GO! is operated by GO! (Go NW) [company number and registered address to be added], based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

On this website:

• Your email address, if you ask us to notify you when the apps launch.
• Your name, email address and city, if you start a driver application.
• Basic, cookie-free usage statistics such as page views and the country a visit comes from. These are not linked to you.

In the GO! apps, once they launch:

• Account details: name, mobile number, email address and, optionally, a profile photo and emergency contacts.
• Location data while you use the app, including pickup, drop-off and route information for each trip. Drivers share their location while they are online.
• Trip history, receipts, ratings and messages exchanged through the app.
• Payment details, which are handled by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
• For drivers: identity documents, driving licence, private hire licence, insurance and vehicle documents needed to verify your application.

We use personal data to:

• Provide the service: matching, booking and completing trips.
• Verify drivers before they can take trips, and keep records of that verification.
• Take payment, issue receipts and pay drivers.
• Keep riders and drivers safe, including trip sharing, trip PINs and handling safety reports.
• Provide support and resolve complaints or disputes.
• Send service messages, such as booking confirmations and driver updates.
• Meet our legal obligations, including licensing and tax requirements.

Our legal bases under UK GDPR are performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a safe and reliable service, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it, for example for launch emails.

We share personal data only where needed to run the service:

• Between riders and drivers for a trip: a rider sees the driver's name, photo, rating, vehicle and registration; a driver sees the rider's name, pickup and destination. Phone numbers are not shared.
• Service providers who host our systems, process payments, send notifications and provide maps, under contracts that restrict how they may use the data.
• Licensing authorities, police or other bodies where the law requires it or where necessary to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell personal data.

We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymise it. As a guide:

• Launch-notification emails: until we send the launch email, or until you unsubscribe.
• Account and trip records: for the life of your account and for a period afterwards to meet legal, tax and dispute-handling requirements.
• Driver verification documents: for as long as you are an approved driver and as required by licensing rules afterwards.
• Detailed location history: for a limited period after each trip, after which it is aggregated or deleted.

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of data you have provided in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@go-nw.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it for their role. Driver documents are stored separately with additional access controls.

This website does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies. Our analytics are cookie-free and do not identify individual visitors.

We will update this policy as the service develops, and will publish the new version here with a revised date. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app or by email.
